Readers,
After Memorial Day I feel like summer has really begun. One of my “happy places” is The Lake in Minnesota. Every summer family members (including all the dogs) from Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin, California, and Minnesota gather there.
This place was a spot my dad loved. Whenever I’m at The Lake I miss him deeply. I am grateful for the family memories, family interdependence, and family time.
I hope this poem spurs you on to make some great family memories with your kids this summer.
Strong connected families build a child’s confidence and that confidence moves the child to dream bigger dreams and to even take a few risks.
Below is poem about The Lake experience written by my dad (Rockman) .
If there can be a heaven on earth, let us call it…
Rockland
I’ve prepared a place for you
Tell me of your journey
did it seem long
