Hey Readers,
It’s been awhile since I visited your inbox. It’s good to be back! I thought I’d give you a short update on what has occupied my attention these last few months.
A Wedding.
My daughter, Kendra and her husband, Collin celebrated their wedding in July. They actually got married in March, the day the government offices were shutting down for non-essential licenses. They postponed their June wedding to July, thinking surely the virus would burn out by then.
As we all well know…it didn’t.
The bride and groom had 4 additional separate wedding related events to be “Covid safe.” Each event was organized according to age group, numbers, and space considerations.
- Married at the courthouse, March.
- Prewedding Celebration, July.
- Wedding Celebration, July.
- Post Wedding Celebration, July.
- Final Wedding Open House September.
All the guests were gracious and flexible with the ever changing plans.
Kendra and Collin are REALLY, REALLY Hitched!
Now, the question is...which day is their anniversary date?
A Book
I signed another book contact with New Hope Publishers June 1st. (YAHOO!) July was totally wedding focused. That left June, August, and September to write a 200 page book. Only by God’s grace and literally God’s speed was I able to meet my October deadline and turn my manuscript in to my publisher.
My newest book, which will be published in August 2021, addresses the nation’s troubling mental health crisis Many kids (1 in 5) are struggling with stress, worry, fear, depression, and anxiety. Some are taking or attempting to take their own lives. This is heartbreaking and frightening. It is not normal for our young people to feel like this. We cannot accept these statistics. We must fight back.
Depression has been part of my daughter, the bride’s, story as well. In fact her voice is sprinkled through out the book.
I am passionate about this book’s message and the practical tools it offers. I cannot wait to get it into your hands.
Thank you for allowing me back into your inbox. I do not take that privilege lightly.
With faith, hope, and love,
Lori
PS Here’s one more wedding picture of the whole family (minus our grandson).
