Helping Families Build Connections that Last a Lifetime

Welcome

“Who are you to lead a parenting class?” Apparently I hadn’t properly introduced myself. It feels awkward to state my bio before leading a class. But… the dad who asked the question had every right to inquire. He needed to know my background before he would embrace and implement my parenting suggestions and techniques. Perhaps you are wondering too.

Professionally, I am a licensed parent and family educator and parent coach, podcast co-host on MOMents with Lori and Lee Ann (monthly podcast sponsored by Raising Christian Kids, Lee Ann Mancini), certified teacher, co-founder of 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting Ministry, national speaker, and author of 6 parenting books.

I don’t think those credentials are the most important ones. I believe that personal experience is the place where wisdom is born, compassion is grown, and humility discovered.

Personally, I’m the mom of four adult children (our family is smack dab in the middle of a growth spurt with in-laws and grands being added to the gang) and wife to Tom, my college sweetheart.

Wouldn’t  you agree, nothing smartens up a person faster, knocks one’s pride down quicker, or tenderizes a heart more than being a parent ?

Keep Peace or Make Peace

Have you ever compared the words, make and keep? Maybe not, but recently I have. Perhaps these words have been milling around in my mind because I need to know how the Lord wants me to proceed in a difficult situation. (Of course I want to keep the peace-but in doing...

7 Things to Avoid if You Want to Raise a Leader

If all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you too? Tom and I went to college in Duluth, Minnesota. Near the campus there was a local swimming hole. Jumping off the cliff was the quickest way to access the refreshing spring fed water. So yes.... (NOTE: This is NOT...

10 Hope-Filled Responses When You Love a Prodigal

In reading through scripture, it strikes me that all our Biblical Heroes have strayed or missed the mark at one time or another. Some prior to knowing the Lord and others who knew Him. There is hope for the prodigal because we have all been a wanderer at one time or...
